Sri Raghavendraya Namaha

Raghavendraya Namaha in Devanagari is an eight-syllable mantra meaning salutation to Sri Raghavendra. The name Raghavendra has the credence for being suggested by lord Rama himself to Sri Sudhindra Thirtharu. The word Raghava means descendants of Raghu Vamsha and Indra means Chief conveying the name of Lord Rama. Also, lord moola Rama is the Samsthana aradhya deity.

Sri Raghavendraya namaha is the Beeja mantra of Sri Raghavendra Thirtharu. This was known to be first coined by Sri Appannacharya, an eminent scholar and ardent disciple of Sri Rayaru. This mantra appears in the Guru Sthothra rendered by Sri Appanacharya which starts with Sri Poornabodha. In this Sthothra he confirms that performing Japa of this eight-syllable mantra daily one is sure to have all his desires fulfilled. Reciting this mantra, the person who chants is sure to have all the accumulated sins burnt. This is not just for himself but includes his near and dear. The benefits so derived by the devoted chanters are innumerable beyond comprehension.

It is observed, some chanters prefix and suffix Om to this mantra. One should chant at least 108 times to stay connected with the force of the guru.
