Sri Raghavendra Teertharu is the only guru on whom, thousands of compositions are created by several Dasarus of different periods. One of them is Sri Jagannatha Dasaru from Manvi, a Dwaitha highly prolific scholar turned into a Dasa with Namaankitha- Jagannatha Vittala.
Jagannatha Dasaru used to visit Mantralaya for worshipping Rayaru quite frequently but on one occasion, he stayed there indefinitely discontented. Reacting to his deep devotion, Rayaru appears and showered his blessings on him. The Darshan was given to the fortunate Dasa whenever he wished for it and often engaged in conversations with him. It so happened Jagannatha Dasa started making casual comments that Rayaru would give Darshan whenever he asked for it. It was in his poor sense that he made such remarks. Then on Rayaru stopped giving him Darshan for which Jagannatha Dasaru was deeply disappointed. In the state of depression, he composed a touching Dasara pada- ‘Yake Mookanadiyo Guruve…’ meaning (Why have you become silent) and Rayaru as a consolation started appearing in his Dreams.
It is to be noted that Rayaru hears to all the utterances including loose remarks and praising poems, yet compassionate without letting down his disciples.
The refined Sri Jagannatha Dasaru carried the blessings of Rayaru in abundance making him script The Harikathamrutasara -A magnum opus on Dwaitha Darshana.
