Krishna fondly called muddu Krishna was the son of Venkataramanachar and Triveni, he was adopted by Bheemasenacharya and Venkamma. He grew up to become a learned Sanskrit scholar and an Asthana Vidwan in the court of Ghorpade Kingdom. He enjoyed all the worldly pleasures he aspired for and later realized the purpose of his life. He got insights to lead a new life in the spiritual path adoring Sri Raghavendra Teertharu. The events leading to his transformation is interesting for the seekers.

When Muddukrishna was immersed in pleasures of life, Sri Appanacharya appears in his dream and indicates that all the progress he had in life was with the blessings of Rayaru but he ignores it. Again, Sri Appanacharya appears in his dream and persuades him to chant his stotra- ‘Sri Poornabodha’ and worship Rayaru forthwith. Muddukrishna seriously takes up study of Vedic wisdom and orients his mind towards Rayaru. He also visits Mantralaya and performs a long seva attaining strong and pure Bhakti.

One night, he gets a dream in which a golden bell, Lord Hanuman, four Brahmins and Rayaru appears and he could see Rayaru walking into his house and sitting beside him. The dream continues and Rayaru hands over Mantrakshate with a copper plate having inscriptions of alphabets and geometrical designs. He also imparts knowledge and advices him to write a book outlining the method and manner in which he should be worshiped. The next morning, he wakes up to see the Mantrakshate and the copper plate in his hand. Feeling blessed and out of the world, he immediately takes up the divine task of scripting ‘Sri Raghavendra Tantra’.
