MOOKAPI YAT PRASADENA MUKUNDA SHAYANAAYATE
RAJA RAJAAYATE RIKTO RAGHAVENDRAM TAM AASHARAYE
Sri Raghavendra Thirtharu is to this day, compared with Kalpvraksha and Kamdhenu – the celestial beings in the heaven for his generosity in granting boons and fulfilling the wishes. The devotees are expected to offer prayers with pure devotion and total surrender. Sri Narayanacharya has scripted the above Sloka expressing the wishful- fulfilling qualities of Rayaru the Sloka means-a totally dumb person who is unable to speak can result in becoming a great orator as though speaking with thousands of tongues appearing like in the heads of the Adishesha, the bed of lord Vishnu. Further the person suffering from acute poverty can end up acquiring all the richness in terms of wealth name and fame like that of a king. All this is possible only by offering sheer prayers, with pure devotion, and unconditional surrender to him.
This Sloka is no exaggeration. It is evident in the case of Venkanna, an illiterate Brahmin boy grazing the cows, who was unable to speak well and read. When he was under coercion by Masood Khan, he instantly prays Rayaru and was able to read the letter the same Venkanna becomes the Dewan of Adoni.
All these miracles happens to the innocent Venkanna as a result of his his total and unconditional surrender to Sri Raghavendra Thirtharu.
