A unique idol of Lord Hanuman

Hathibelagal, an ancient town frequented by several seers is known for great spiritual seekers like Bilpatrachar, Arlikatte Narasimhachar and the like. There is a lord Hanuman id,ol concentrated by Sri Vyasaraja Teertharu, which is believed, that, another idol of the lord was done by Sri Raghavendra Teertharu. Also, Rayaru is said to have performed a Chaturmasa Vratha in this temple.

Rayaru displayed special affinity towards the place and the devotees in a very unique manner. To the pleasant surprise of his followers, a distinct image of Rayaru appeared on the idol of Lord Hanuman. It is said the idol was so interactive to the deeply devoted Arlikatte Narasimhachar. A similar image of Sri Teekacharyaru too appeared as the devotee was fascinated with Nyayasudha and he had read it several times. The image of Rayaru is clearly visible under the tail end of lord Hanuman and Jayateertharu’s is seen on the left side near the shoulder of the lord.

Once, during the lifetime of Arlikatte Narasimhachar, a saffron cladded old man was seen entering the sanctum sanatorium of the temple, however did not return. On enquiry, Narasimhachar said it was Rayaru himself.  Rayaru had developed special interest to the place that he instructed Dewan Venkanna to dig a lake near the temple. This speaks of Rayaru’s social responsibility.

A must visit to the temple, this is located near Guntakal in Kurnool District.
