The Thritiya of the Vaishaka masa in the brighter half is observed as Akshaya Thritiya this day stands out to be a very important day in the Vaishnava practices there are several interesting events that is believed to have happened on this day. Holy Ganges having the touch of Lord Vishnus feet descended to the earth, Lord Hayagreeva was incarnated by Lord Vishnu, Lord Parusharama was born to Sage Jamadagni and Renuka, it was the start day of Treta yuga, Sudhama gave pounded rice to Lord Krishna for which the lord reciprocated with wealth to sudhama, drapudi was given the Akshaya Patra by Lord Krishna, Lord Veda Vyasa started dictating Mahabharatha to Sri Ganesh, and many more. All this happened on this sacred Akshaya Thritiya day.  

It is also believed that on this day the line of destiny changes and one can be hopeful of change in their fortunes.

At mantralaya the day is considered special and auspicious. The Guru Rayara Brindivana is coated with a thick sandal paste . it is a treat to the eyes of devotees.
