There is a story often told in the Gurukul tradition about the Gurus. The narrative is as below-
A person walking in the desert feeling hot desperately wants to have a shade. He finds a tree far off and runs to rest under the tree. Relaxing for a few minutes he wished if water was available, it would have been too good for him. Suddenly, a pot full of water appears before him and happily he drinks it not bothering where it came from. After some time, he wished if food was available as he was too hungry. To his surprise a large plate containing delicious food appears in front of him. He merely eats stomach full again, not bothering where it all came from. His joy had no bounds. Having eaten stomach full, he felt drowsy and wished – if a mattress was available, he could sleep his eyes full. Instantly, a mattress appeared for him. He jumped with joy and laid himself on the mattress. He could see the tree and felt very thankful feeling that it is a Kalpavruksha and whatever he is wishing for is being fulfilled.
A few minutes passed he realised he alone in the desert and what if a ghost appears. Immediately a ghost appeared. He got scared and felt what if the ghost eats him. Suddenly the ghost ate him. That was the end of the person taking refuge under a fake Kalpavruksha.
We meet Such fake Kalpavrukshas in plenty and seldom find Kalpavrukshas like Sri Raghavendra Tirtha. Our Guru knows what is good and bad for the devotee. He gives only good and denies the bad and wrong wishes.
‘OM SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA OM’
