Goddess Saraswathy communicates to Sri Venkatanatha (I)

Excerpts from Sri Raghavendra Vijaya written by Sri Narayanacharya and translated to English by Sri G.B. Joshi.

Vedavyasa’s speech on Brahma Sutras is Kaamadhenu. From the milk of that cow, Bhashya on Sutras, Sri Madhwa sent me as a child. I attained my youth with the help of great disciples of Akshobhyateertha (Jayateertha).

The whole of the earth thinks herself fortunate in having Krishna Raja as its king, who has taken resort to the feet of Vyasa Raja. Now, I holding the hand of Vyasaraya really became strong and prosperous.

That Vyasa Tirtha arranged that I should live long, for my desire was to live till the end of this kalpa. Then, he roused my curiosity through Tarkatandava and nourished me by the work of Nyayaamrita. Then I was kept as if I were a creeper in the moonlight of the work called Chandrika, which is but the gist of Sudha.

The famous Vijayendra Tirtha got a good name in the world by the help of me, his friend and under the pretext of writing a gist of Nyayaamrita, made a basin to fill it with water for my creeper – like life to grow.

Sri Vijayendra Tirtha give me a silken garment in the form of a work called Kantakaddhaara, which is adorned with variety of colors with beautiful letters, which has a respectable value, it has meanings highly appreciated by the learned, whic is popular in all places, is long and broad, which is very new and is going to stay forever as long as the sun and the moon would stay and is highly attractive.
