GURU RAGHAVENDRA SWAMY –The miraculous HEALER from the SOUTH

In the Hindu philosophical and religious traditions, there are many sacred names that have been enigmatic, mystical and phenomenally great achievers. As a nation, we can be proud of the testimony we bear to having some of the world’s greatest souls, that have changed the course for mankind.

One such name, we call even to this with affection, compassion and love is Shri Guru Raghavendra Swamy. Guru Raghavendra Swamy, also known as Guru Rayaru is considered to be an incarnation of the mythical Prahlada, a child and ardent devotee saved by Lord Vishnu, himself, adorning the Narasimha avatar.

In the course of his life journey, especially after ascending the role as Pontiff, Raghavendra Swamy conducted many spiritual discourses, lectures and commentaries to uplift mankind from the route of banality. He undertook many pilgrimages across the country, spreading the holy words of Srimad Madhwacharya, and the Madhwa tradition.

Wherever he went, he would cure people of severe diseases, ailments and illnesses. It is said, he once removed the poisonous venom from the body of a prince bitten by a snake. It is also said, he once saved a child that had been drowned. A tale goes on to say that in the pretext of being tested, he was once given a wooden palate to sprout it with leaves. He just sprinkles it with holy water and it began sprouting leaves. It is no wonder or surprise that he was meant for a life of greatness, and he had a definite role to play in creating a path of upliftment for mankind.

In his lifetime, Raghavendra Swamy came to be attributed with many miraculous acts, magical feats and philosophical achievements – from curing people of illnesses, to healing negative effects of witchcraft, to eliminating mental illnesses (like depression, suicidal tendencies, anxiety and other major disorders) and bestowing people with the most desired boons, fulfilling wishes and redeeming mankind.
