Sri Raghavendra Thirtharu during one of his tours, was staying in Lord Hanuman Temple at Manvi in Raichur District. He was performing Chaturmasa vratha meaning he remained in the same place for four months.
One day, an old Harijan comes to the temple and bows to Rayaru while standing at a distance. Rayaru on seeing, recollects the previous Births of his own self and that of the Harijan and asks him – Have you still not got rid of your Karmas? The Harijan replies no Swamy, please help me get out of the Birth and Death cycle. Rayaru asks him to get some food as an offering for Lord Moola Rama. The following day, the Harijan gets a handful of mustard Seeds and presents it to Rayaru with pure devotion. Rayaru hands over the same to the cook instructing him to use it in the preparation of the Prasadam. He instructs the cook to use the mustard seeds, though it is well-known that it is prohibited for use during Chaturmasa.
The preparation was offered to Lord Moola Rama and Teertha Prasada was distributed to all including Harijans. The Harijan consumes it and ends his life.
Rayaru reveals to all that the Harijan was Kanakadasa in his previous life when Rayaru was Vyasaraja Thirtharu in the last birth. He further says the Harijan is now liberated from the cycle of birth and death.
The remark of Rayaru in this incidence is a testimony to confirm that Sri Raghavendra Thirtharu was Sri Vyasa Thirtharu in his previous birth.
