Pranesha Vittala Dasa
Pranesha Vittala Dasa (1736 – 1822) a popular Haridasa in the Dasa Koota was given the Ankita by Sri Jagannatha Dasa. He was earlier called Yogendra and lived with his two brothers Raghappa and Subbanna his father Tirikappa Kulkurni was a staunch devotee of Rayaru and often visited Mantralaya. He experienced a great miracle when he performed a seva to Rayaru at Mantralaya the leukoderma patches on Yogendra’s body vanished but for a small patch on his feet. Later again when he performed the Seva, Raayaru in his dreams informed that the residual patch was in the moola roopa and hence it would remain. The whole family continued there Seva to Rayaru.
Yogendra had a good repo with the then pontiff of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt, Sri Varadendra Teertharu (1761-1785). Once the pontiff had visited his house and upon the insistence of Pranesha Vittaladasa he chose a place where stacks of hay was stored. The seer informed him to reserve the place for him and proceeded his journey foreword. However he reaches the lotus feet of the lord and appears in the dream of Yogendra to tell him he would come in the form of Tulasi plant under the Stack of Hay. Accordingly he finds a Tulsi plant under the Hay and a Brindavana of Sri Varadendra Tirtha was concreated here in Lingasoor. This is also called ‘Swapna brindavana’.
