Rayaru appreciates Harikathamruthasara

Jaganatha Dasaru, an ardent devote had the credit of having Darshan of Sri Raghavendra Teertharu and also engaging him in conversations very often whenever he wished for it. It is said he was Sri Sahlad,a the youngest brother of Prahalada in the Kritha Yuga.

Jaganatha Dasa was earlier called Srinivasacharya and was given the Ankita Nama by Gopala Dasa. He was an eminent Sanskrit scholar and had in-depth knowledge of the Dwaitha philosophy. His major contribution is Harikathamruthasara – a magnum opus giving complete Dwaitha Darshana. This text has 32 chapters presented in “Bhaminishatpadi” style, brilliantly covering his understanding of the shastras, Sri Madhvacharya’s wisdom and works of eminent saints of the Madhwa Philosophy. On completion of this work, Jaganatha Dasaru devotionally renders in front of Sri Guru Raghavendra Brindavana at Mantralaya, for which the Brindavana was witnessed to be shaken expressing the appreciation of Sri Guru Raghavendra. This phenomenon was witnessed in another case also when Sri Vadheendra Teertharu rendered ‘Guru Guna Stavana’. It is indeed a great feat achieved by these scholars.

Jaganatha Dasaru’s life journey was filled with miracles throughout. He comes across several personalities of high spiritual order like Sri Vageesha Teertharu, Vijay Dasaru, Gopala Dasaru etc. The greatest strength of this Aparoksha Gnani was the divine grace of Sri Raghavendra Teertharu showered on him.
